As a fellowship trained clinician, my research interests lie in developing and translating results into the clinic. My current research focuses on evaluating treatments for retinal disorders, typically through clinical trials. I am currently investigating gene replacement therapy to treat Leber's congenital amaurosis, as well as evaluating a light cycle inhibitor to treat the atrophic form of age-related macular degeneration termed geographic atrophy. This builds upon my past work as part of the teams evaluating interventions for age-related macular degeneration (ex: CAPT, CNVPT, CATT, AREDS2) and diabetic retinopathy (ex: Tolrestat Trial, DCCT, EDIC).
